Along the Journey

Happy Weekend my friend! Do you have any big plans for the weekend?

Hubby and I are catching up on some spring yard work since we were away last weekend.

Maybe I forgot to tell you – we went away to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and our birthdays! Yep, we have been married for 40 years!

Officially, our anniversary was April 9th but since our birthdays are in May, we celebrate our anniversary, Mother’s Day, My birthday (May 11), and hubby’s birthday (May 22) all together!

We celebrated in Lancaster PA and went to Sight and Sound. Have you been yet? It’s such an amazing experience!

We saw Moses this time. It’s a live show with real animals. The stage is ginormous and the acting is unbelievable. The music, the props…. there are no words to describe the show. It’s more than entertainment too. Watching the stories from the Bible come to life helps to strengthen my faith.

Hubby and I had an opportunity to chat with the fella sitting next to us. When the show was over, he looked over at us and in his broken English said, “My heart is full.” I couldn’t have put the experience into better words than he did.

The man was with his two teenage daughters and told us a little bit of his story. He had just come from Guatemala and he was thankful to get out of that country due to terrible persecution. He told us that his two brothers had been killed and he knew he had to get his daughters away from there.

He went on to tell us that people in America had been so kind and generous and he was thankful for the opportunity to see the show at Sight and Sound. He also said that he knew God would continue to be with him.

We were so blessed to chat with him and we have been praying for him since we got home. If you are the praying kind, can you stop for a moment and lift him up in prayer? God knows exactly who he is and what his needs are 🙂

some of my blogging friends….

A couple of weeks ago, I shared a post along with some of my blogging friends. Unfortunately, some of the information I shared was lost in the inter-webs!

So I decided to share my two friends whose info was lost. Anna from SkyLark House and Regina from Saved from Salvage.

You will enjoy both of their posts! Be sure to pop over and give them a sweet comment!

Are you getting ready for warmer weather? I have been certainly getting our yard ready but now it’s time to work on my wardrobe! I don’t buy a ton of new things but it’s nice to have a few new things. Especially where clothing is concerned 🙂

Here are some of the items that have come in the mail recently and some that are still in my cart!

  1. I love Lancaster, Pa! My husband and I spent a week up there many years back and I just loved it. I don’t believe they had these live shows at the time but I have been to one in Gatlinburg, Tn. That was so beautiful and so touching! I think the name of it was The Christ but I’m not 100% sure. I’m sure they are probably the same shows maybe even the same people. I could follow them anywhere!
Happy 40th Anniversary! We are coming up on our 47th in June. It’s a journey for sure!
I have said a prayer for your Guatemalan family and wish them the best! They sound lovely.
Thank you for sharing this today and have a great weekend!

I am really enjoying your blog! Happy anniversary and happy birthday to you and Steve. Sight and Sound is the perfect way to celebrate anything!!!! I love less than 2 hours away from Lancaster. My parents used to get season tickets to go 4 times a year. After my Dad passed away the next five years my mom and I would make it a mother and daughter weekend. But my back is getting worse all the time and we have not gone in three years. I remember coming out of the Easter story one time and the seats were sold out and you could have heard a pin drop all the way to the cats! Their shows are so moving! May God bless you both along with the man and his two daughters for a lifetime of joy.

    1. I’m sorry to hear that your back gives you so much trouble Snadie! Sitting for that long can be brutal on the back. Thanks for the birthday and anniversary wishes! It thrills my heart to know you enjoy our blog! Thanks so much for your sweet words 😊
