diy Beatrix potter toy cabinet makeover

I found this wooden toy cabinet at my local thrift store and knew I had to give it a makeover! It only cost $4! I used supplies I had on hand plus an adorable Beatrix Potter Inspired Decoupage paper and created the cutest little kitchen hutch I’ve ever seen!

A small, blue wooden cabinet with a painting of a rabbit in a blue jacket on its front. This charming DIY makeover features four doors with brass knobs and sits gracefully on a wooden table, where a lace cloth is partially visible.

Speaking of adorable Beatrix Potter inspired Easter decorations, that same decoupage paper I used on the toy cabinet also had this cute little bunny on a stack of books. I grabbed a thrift store frame, some watercolor paper and wa-la, instant DIY Easter art! This piece could also be used year round in a child’s room!

A framed illustration of a rabbit, perfect for Easter decorations, sits atop a stack of books on the wooden cabinet door. Behind the screen door, white ceramic dinnerware and teapots are arranged on shelves.

Have you tried using decoupage paper on fabric? It’s so easy! I used a sheet of blue and white vintage bunny decoupage paper and scrap fabric to create this sweet bunny garland for our mantel.

thrift store baskets for Easter

If you need an Easter basket for the kids in your life, head to your local thrift store. There is an abundance of small baskets with handles that make the perfect Easter basket! Most are wicker and look so much cuter than the plastic Easter baskets at the big box stores. Paint them, add some candy and add a ribbon for a pretty look!

spring inspired front door wreath diy

An Easter wreath for your front door doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg! To save money on a wreath form, I made over the same pinecone wreath for the different seasons. For the Easter and spring season, I added a faux bird, little birds nest and handmade clay eggs. This is a great way to welcome your guests!

diy pine cone flowers in spring colors

Pine Cone flowers have been around for awhile now and I can’t get enough of them! Paint them in pastel colors then create a gorgeous floral centerpiece for your tabletop decor. Your Easter brunch guests will be inspired by your creativity!

BTW, I plan on making an Easter tree next year using pine cone flowers!

paint your own wooden easter eggs

An annual Easter egg hunt is always a fun event. A couple of years ago, I painted wooden Easter eggs so that my grandkids could hunt for them when they come. So far we haven’t celebrated Easter here at our home but lucky for me, the eggs won’t go bad!

Kids would love to paint these eggs. They can be decorated with a marker and maybe glitter. Wouldn’t that be fun for children of all ages?

repurposed flowers for spring

This gorgeous diy upcycled flower arrangement was fun to work on! I loved the shape of the faux floral I found at my local thrift store but not the colors. This beautiful spring topiary is not only pretty for the Easter season, but also for spring and summer!
