Weekend Shopping My Birthday Edition
Hi friend! Thanks for popping over to the blog! I appreciate you ‘celebrating’ my birthday with me today!
I’ll be with family all day – we are grilling outdoors on our back patio with the usual summer foods. Hamburgers, grilled brats, potato salad, iced tea, and some kind of amazing dessert I hope!
Regardless of what we eat, I will be surrounded by those I love most in the whole world. My hubby, my kids, my grandkids, and my mom.
Today is a blessed day and I am grateful! 😊

Since it’s my birthday today, I went a little cray-cray with shopping! I’m not a huge shopper except at the thrift store but I chose budget-friendly and useful items for you to sift through.

- Several years ago I bought a pair of Pillowflex down alternative pillow inserts. I made my own covers and sold them in our vendor. I ordered 30 more, made more covers and they sold like hotcakes! The inserts are seriously the BEST I have ever had! They are the only inserts I use now. Except for the comfort, the best part is they are made here in the USA! I have the 20″ inserts but they come in all sizes including a 16″ square-sized insert. This week I bought new vintage blue pillow covers for the pair of pillows on my sofa. I also want the neutral vintage pillow covers and at only $15 for the pair of covers, I might grab those too!
- With my mind on all things cushiony, I’m checking out some new outdoor patio seat cushions. Our back patio is getting a little refresh soon so I am deciding which seat cushions I should get. Let me know your favorites! An 18″ square tufted cushion on each chair would be amazing! But I also love a plush cushion made with waterproof Olefin fabric. I guess I could get a printed fabric outdoor seat cushion too! So many choices, help me decide!
- We love to sit on our back patio under vintage-style string lights. We had to take down the old lights because most of the bulbs had burned out after about four years! The new set of patio lights has 50 bulbs on 100 feet of cord! That should be enough!
- While sitting outside in the evenings bugs can be an issue, right? Hubby found THE BEST products to steer them away from our patio. The Outdoor Fly Trap is hung away from the area you spend time in. It draws the flys and other insects toward the bag and away from you! The Fly Trap comes in a single bag or you can save $1 per bag if you buy 6 bags at a time. We also love using the Thermacell Mosquito Repellent system for stray mosquitoes. We put ours under our patio table and the mosquitos stay away. Hubby keeps a repellent refill pack handy so we always have them on hand.
- During the day, I really enjoy watching the hummingbirds come to our front porch as well as the back patio. A Vintage Glass Bottle Hummingbird Feeder is in keeping with our vintage and repurposed style. I also love a Red Hummingbird Feeder. Then again, I saw this blue glass Hummingbird Feeder with an Ant Moat that would be perfect on our back patio! If you don’t have an Ant Moat for your Hummingbird Feeder, get one!! They work so well!
- Do you have a Walmart Plus Membership yet? We bought one a couple of years ago and have never looked back! We order groceries and ANYTHING else Walmart offers and it comes straight to our home! You get free shipping, savings on fuel, and other amazing offers! We use the Walmart app too access our Walmart membership and order even more than we use the Amazon app! Most of what I have shared today was bought through our Walmart Membership (except one size of the pillow inserts!) If you purchase through my link, you get 1/2 off of the annual membership. It’s such an amazing deal!
