thrift store finds
These sweet little demilune tables can be found at most thrift stores and auctions. They are often overlooked so I have found plenty of them.
Let’s give this Demilune table a quick makeover!
repair a demilune table
The veneer was peeling, the legs were wobbly and the finish was dull.
A bit of wood glue between the layers of peeling veneer, some clamping and then allowing it to set up overnight solved that problem.
The screws were tightened on the legs and that solved the wobbliness.

All that was left was to deal with the finish.
That’s the fun part! I chose Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Aviary. It’s a grayish blue that is soft and easy on the eyes.

You can see how I mix the paint by watching this video:
The latest on Youtube:
Two coats of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint covered the Demilune table perfectly. And the chipping happened mostly on its own.
I used a worn-out fine-grit sanding block to smooth the texture of the milk paint and that brought on a bit more chipping.

Miss Mustard Seed Hemp Oil finished and sealed the paint. The hemp oil adds to the vintage feel of this Demilune Table makeover, don’t you think?
I used Miss Mustard Seed White Wax for the top. Wood Tops are so pretty on tables but this one needed something extra. White wax allowed the wood to show while lightening the dark tone of the wood.

I’ve gathered some links for demilune tables. Some are new on Wayfair and some are vintage on Etsy!

And the white wax settled into the nooks and crannies perfectly!

Cindy, this is a really beautiful makeover. The table looked so old. You really gave it a refresh new look. It the legs could move it would be strutting around the room! Well done! Perfect color choice too. Pinned both of your table projects.
Hahaha!! The dancing table would be a sight to see! Thanks, Tammy!
