Small Round Two-Tier Side Table Makeover

The Cutest Two-Tier Side Table!

This sweet two-tier round side table is so adorable!  We see this style of table at yard sales and auctions and even though their designs might be slightly different, they are very similar in style.  Certainly when I see them, I grab them up!

Alright, let’s get to it!!

Start with a Good Cleaning

First of all, projects always start with a good cleaning.  As a result of starting the project this way, I am able to notice any repairs that are needed.  This sweet little table only needed a couple of spindles re-glued.

The finish was pretty worn out to say the least, so I just used a scotch brite pad during the cleaning process.  Read more about my process for cleaning in this post.

Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint was my choice for this project.  It is such an easy paint to use and I knew the color Schloss would be perfect!  It is a lovely warm gray that looks so good in any home.

Chose your finish!

Typically, two coats are needed when using Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint.  This round side table was no exception.  Here is the first coat.  Though it can be a bit scary at first sight, don’t loose hope!

And here is the second coat of paint.  See, it’s all better now! The coverage is so good!  I use a chip brush to get the desired look I am going for.  Here you can see the brush marks.  As a result, the texture created by the paint and the chip brush is just perfect for the painted-at-home look my customers love!

Just a Little Distressing…

A little chipping goes along way!  This is just the amount of chipping this little table needed!

I sealed the table with a coat of one of my favorite topcoats – General Finishes High Performance in Flat.  It creates a beautiful, hand-rubbed finish.

Are My Eyes Seeing Double?

And here is the round two-tier side table!  Well, I should say ‘tables’ because I had another table that was very similar.  So I am calling them a pair!  

These little two-tier side tables are perfect in a bed room as night stands.  They would be lovely in a guest room or in a teen girl’s room!
