Along the Journey

August has been a lovely month in Delaware this year. Often the heat is oppressive but that hasn’t been the case this year!

I’ve been enjoying my early morning routine on our front porch. The sounds and temps couldn’t be better. We have a pair of hummingbirds that join me in the mornings.

It’s so cute to watch them get their breakfast and then buzz over to see what I am up to. Of course, I have my coffee in hand and a journal in my lap.

weekend happenings

This past weekend we had a wonderful time going to the Annual Wheat Threshers Festival in Federalsburg, Maryland. One of our daughters and her little boy joined us for a day of seeing old farming equipment like this steam-powered tractor.

It was so interesting to see how farmers did their work back in the day. I’ve got lots of videos to share so stay tuned for a YouTube video coming soon!

We also shopped and shopped and shopped at the outdoor vintage market. My daughter and I found so many good pieces! I’ll be sharing a haul in that same video. Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don’t miss it!

Fall is around the corner so let’s get thinking about all the fall decor! Here are two wreaths to get your creative juices going.

I’m also sharing more wreaths at the bottom of this post!

So many great ideas Cindy! I love your rag wreath. So cute. Happy almost fall.

    1. Thanks Wendy! Happy almost fall to you too!

  2. Thanks for the wreath links, but there does not appear to be a link for the one I liked most–the last one.

    1. Oh no! I’m sorry the link didn’t work! Did you try tapping on the image?

  3. Hi Cindy! I listened to your most recent podcast – pick like a picker. You and Steve covered some great topics and provided some good examples. I love what you shared about the midcentury cabinet you painted. Also I had to share – more for Steve – that Mr. SLH is also obsessed with Batman stuff. He definitely would have purchased the bat mobile. Have a great week!

    1. Omgoodness, I will let Steve know about Mr SLH’s obsession with Batman!
