Along the Journey Summer Capsule Wardrobe 2023
Hi friend! Thanks for stopping by today – I have something new to share with you that I am sure you will enjoy! You will also see some of our recent projects, YouTube videos and an amazing pickle recipe!
If you are anything like me, then you like easy and simple clothing choices. In the last couple of years, I’ve downsized my clothing to simple and casual pieces that can mix and match.
That’s what led me to this post! I thought I would share with you some of the pieces I have found recently at Walmart! Yep, good ole’ Walmart!
Time and Tru from Walmart
Many of these pieces I found online as well as going into my local store and seeing them up close. BTW, I love the Time and Tru pieces that Walmart started carrying a few years back. Have you tried any of the clothing lines from Time and Tru? Go into your local Walmart and check it out!
For your convenience, I’ve broken up some of the clothing items into groups. That way, you can imagine how the pieces can work together. I’ve also included several options as far as colors and styles go.
The main focus of this little summer wardrobe is ease, simplicity, and the option to mix and match. Ok, that’s three ‘main’ focus points! All the better for you!
casual summer outfits
Bermuda shorts can be casual or dressy depending on the top. Here are a couple of options for you. BTW, these looks can be carried into the early fall season if you add a sweater!
Don’t you love those black and white checked pair of Bermuda shorts? They are in my closet and I have worn them several times!
You’ll also see some adorable cropped pants in the second collage if that’s more your style. Check out the fun jean shorts- I’m wearing those constantly! They are so cute and comfy with the stretch fabric.

casual summer dresses
I spend a lot of the spring and summer months in casual dresses. They feel like a t-shirt but help me to look a bit more polished than my usual workshop clothes!
See the blue and camel sandals at the bottom of the collage? They feel so good on my feet even with the foot problems I am developing as I age! The instep is the perfect fit!
casual summer evening outfits
Hubby and I like to go out to dinner on the weekends. Restaurants can be chilly (in my opinion!) so wearing a lightweight pair of linen pants is always a great solution.
I have the black pair you see below and I will probably get the light color too!
