Along the Journey Hand Picked Faves

Woohoo for 2024!

I remember being excited as a kid thinking about the year 2000. It seemed like an eternity away.

And now we are almost a quarter of the way through the first 100 years of 2000! Unreal, isn’t it?

family time

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year’s Holiday. We did. Hubby and I were able to visit one of our daughters and her family the day after Christmas. Then we traveled south to see our other daughter and her family and also our son and his family.

We have five grandkids! By age, Bryant is 16, Ben is 3, Ollie is 1 1/2, Addie is 8mos and Cam is 6mos!

We are so blessed that we were able to spend time with each one in their own way!

recent projects

I took some time away to be with our special people and then I came home sick! That’s how it goes, right?

I did manage to get our Christmas decor put away and I was thankful for that. You can watch on the video linked below. It’s not ground breaking, but maybe it will inspire you to put away your decor if you haven’t yet!

Here are some projects from the past that will inspire you for the new year. Tap the images to read the post!

Reinvented Delaware – Cindy

  • Over the Christmas holiday, we visited our kids who live out of state. Their guest room was perfect especially since they had the most comfy memory foam mattress topper on the bed! We slept like babies. Our sound machine helped too!
  • Yep, we took our sound machine! Have you tried sleeping with one of these? They are amazing! You won’t hear any sounds that you don’t want to hear! Of course, I took my pillow. I do not leave home without it!
  • I’ve decided to start walking daily again. I did it for 3 years straight then broke the habit. January will be the month to begin. As soon as I am over this sickness! A new pair of sneakers, some warm exercise pants and one of these shirts with a slit for your thumb to hold the shirt sleeve down will be the perfect motivation!
  • Winter means soup season around here. I cook a pot of soup on Saturday afternoons and hubby and I have food for the whole weekend! My fave is an enamel-covered cast iron dutch oven. This pot is the perfect soup pot not to mention it roasts a chicken and you can make sourdough bread in it! Seriously, it’s the perfect pot!

Sky Lark House – Anna

  • The month of January is all about organizing and cleaning. I purchased this pack of bar mop kitchen towels and loved them so much – I bought them for my Mom and Sister. They are a game changer since they are soft, absorbent and the perfect size for wiping down just about anything. At the time of writing this – they are about $24 for a pack of 12.
  • We have 2 dogs and now that it is winter and it gets dark early, we end up walking them at night. Also, since we live in the northeast, it’s usually 20 degrees or colder outside. So, when I found these warm, water repellent coats with reflective tape for our dogs, I could not buy them fast enough. Now our dogs are warmer, drier and can be seen easier.
  • Using dull scissors in the kitchen makes me crazy and it isn’t safe. Finally, I purchased these Kitchen Aid Scissors and they are great. It makes me wonder why it took me so long to order them when they were less than $10.
  • For the last year I have been mixing collagen powder into my morning coffee. Now I can’t imagine living without this supplement. My nails, skin and hair have definitely improved. As someone who is 50 years old, it’s something I can’t live without.

Lora Bloomquist – Lora

  • For the last year and a half I’ve been living the fasting lifestyle. I’ve been able to reverse my Type 2 diabetes and my insulin resistance! My body is healing from the inside out. If you’re up for getting healthy in this new year, THESE little packets will help you do long fasts. If you want to learn more about fasting, I’ve got a few of my favorite reads HERE.
  • If you think you’re an introvert and want to get to know yourself better, THIS faith-based Christian workbook has been so wonderful this past year. Holly Gerth is one of my favorite authors and she hits the nail on the head with guiding introverts into their God given strengths.
  • Has the January organization bug hit yet? I’ve been wanting to get my office/studio clean and organized for the new year and THIS handy iron/ironing board organizer has been great to conserve floor space.
  • Organizing craft supplies in an aesthetic way is always a challenge. THESE stackable, clear bins have been perfect to organize all my ribbons and twine by color. I can see exactly what I have and they all fit on one shelf. If you’re an out of sight, out of mind person, these will help so much!

one for the road
