backyard shed Christmas decor

Our shed design lends itself to a rustic, repurposed vibe, not a typical shed feel. Our small building is not a traditional shed by any means. It sits off of our main house by about 25 yards. We can see it from our back patio as well as from inside our home.

Because of this, I wanted this adorable garden she shed to look pretty throughout the year, whatever season we are in! It’s the perfect spot to add a touch of the winter holidays to our backyard!

A small, rustic white shed is surrounded by lush greenery and trees. It features large windows and a metallic roof. In front, there's a wooden bench and some gardening tools. The overall setting is peaceful and inviting.

she shed uses

This garden she shed is the perfect small space with plenty of natural light since part of the shed roof is clear corrugated roof panels. The garden shed will be the spot where I can start seedlings in the spring, create beautiful potted planters for our front porch, and a place to store all the garden tools and supplies.

I even use it as a little home office when writing a blog post like this one! A small table and a couple of vintage side chairs fit inside the space perfectly creating the perfect place to do some work on my laptop!

A rustic garden shed with a weathered blue door ajar, revealing a cozy interior with plants, pots, and gardening tools. A small vintage green chair sits outside on a brick patio. The shed's exterior is white with peeling paint, and a window with an open vintage window.

she shed Christmas decoration ideas

I wanted easy design ideas for the she shed this Christmas. Going over the top with decor isn’t my thing. I wanted to keep this holiday decorating project as simple as I could.

For the last couple of years, I’ve used King of Christmas decorations for our home so I turned to them! While perusing their website, I saw they had so many options to choose from for this garden shed.

I reached out to them and they said they would love to partner with me to show you how to decorate a she shed for Christmas the easy way!

By the way, this is the perfect time of year to purchase your Christmas decorations. With shipping issues, you want to be sure you receive your shed decorations in plenty of time to enjoy them!

The Royal Fir Collection includes everything I needed to decorate this special place in our backyard! Let’s look at each piece in this collection!

Christmas tree for an outdoor space

This King of Christmas collection comes with two Christmas trees. They are 3′ tall making them the perfect size to bring a little festive cheer to the garden shed!

When you open the box, be prepared to do some branch fluffing. This is easy, bend each branch into a natural-looking shape until the trees, garland, and wreath look realistic and not flat.

The needles and branches on the greenery look so real! King of Christmas has a quality product for sure!

The trees, as with the front door wreath and the garland, can be plugged into a wall socket or you can use batteries. I chose to use the battery options for each piece so that I don’t have to worry about cords.

It is easy to convert the power option. Simply unscrew the brown cap, pull the cord sections apart, and then plug in the battery pack! It couldn’t be simpler. Anytime I want to use the regular electrical plug, I just switch it back!

The battery pack includes a built-in timer. There are three options: press the black button once to activate the 6 hours on and 18 hours off, press the button a second time to keep the lights on, and press a third time to turn the lights off.

When using the timer option, press the black button when you want the 6 hours on option to begin. How easy is that??

A green electronic device with open compartments lies on a newspaper atop pebbles. Nearby, there are three red and silver D batteries and a section of artificial pine tree branches.

seasonal wreath for a front door

The front door wreath is the focal point of the set in my opinion. This is the spot where you welcome guests as well as the spot where you enter your home. The same is true for my little shed!

Our windowed door is a $10 vintage find and couldn’t be more fitting for this perfect space in our yard. I added a heavy-duty hook for the wreath so it hangs perfectly centered on the antique door.

The faux wreath is beautiful on its own but I wanted to add a festive touch. This thrifted French horn and a small wired bow adorn the wreath perfectly.

The battery pack for the wreath isn’t even noticeable!

garland for the shed roof

Adding lights to garland can be such a pain! I remember the years of putting tiny lights on the garland and having them get twisted!

The King of Christmas garland comes pre-lit if you choose that option! The tiny fairy lights have the perfect warm glow that gives the garden shed a cozy Christmas vibe.

The garland is 9′ long and fits the front gable end of the shed perfectly! I used the same type of hook to hang the garland as I did with the wreath.

Hiding the battery pack was easy. I measured the holes on either side of the battery pack and marked that measurement behind the decorative faux gingerbread I made for the she shed. Two nails are all it took to hold the battery pack out of sight.

Once I push the black button on the battery pack for the first time, I won’t have to think about it all Christmas season!

You can also use the garland on a fireplace mantle too. It’s easy to place the garland first and hide the battery pack. Then place the rest of your Christmas decor pieces around the garland for a festive look!

nativity scene for the front window

Hubby built this rustic nativity scene for our home a couple of years ago. It has been on our front porch and under our tree.

This year I decided that it could be a lovely addition to the garden shed. I stacked a small footstool on top of the dirt sink just inside the front window to raise up the nativity.

The light bulb illuminates the scene and shows up so well at night! I have it plugged into a timer too.

A rustic white shed with a weathered wooden window. A basket with ornaments hangs on the wall. A small pine tree on a chair is decorated with a ribbon. Lush green foliage is in the background. A nativity scence is in the window.

more Christmas decorations

You probably noticed the adorable Christmas trees are sitting on top of a couple of thirfted bistro shares I picked up while out thrift shopping for $20.

They raise the trees to a perfect height to flank either side of the garden shed. The wired ribbon adds just enough shimmer for a holiday aesthetic.

A pair of ice skates sits outside of the front door waiting for a pond to freeze. Haha! That could take some time in Delaware! We don’t often get cold winters enough to freeze the lakes and ponds we have nearby! A girl can dream, right?

My little frog friend is a recent find. I couldn’t stand the idea of putting him away just yet so he has some shimmery ribbon for a festive look!

I also used a wrought iron flag holder to hold a thrifted wire basket of burlap and plastic ornaments that I purchased for a couple of dollars while out thrift shopping.

evening Christmas lights

One of my favorite things about this garden shed is that we can see it from inside our home. The lights will be such an enjoyment as we peak outside on a cold winter night.

The lighted garland, wreath, and Christmas trees made decorating this garden shed so easy!
