The inside of this toolbox was sanded this morning

The inside of this toolbox was sanded this morning!

I used two different types of power sanders:
👉🏻DeWalt Orbital Sander
👉🏻Ginour Detail Sander
The orbital sander is a great general purpose sander. The detail sander has a pointed end to get into corners.
😷
I wore my mask to protect myself from inhaling all that dust. This is especially important (always important!) when sanding the interiors of boxes like this - the dust will blow back towards you!

I have been staring at my computer screen for two days working on a little secret and I am about to pull my hair out!

Ok so that’s an exaggeration! I’m just a little frustrated with technology right now! But I am learning new things!!

Social distancing is the standard for our communities right now but within our families we have an opportunity to grow closer.

What are some things we can do around the table?

>gather at meal time with the tv off and the phones put away and talk to one another
>get the board games out of the closet and have some healthy competition.
>grab a puzzle and start working it together over several days
>pull out the art supplies and everyone create something

It is a challenging time, let’s continue to make the best of it.

Woohoo for a fresh coat of paint!

I finished the second coat of paint in the dining room, cleaned up the painting supplies, put the room together (most of it!) and oh yeah, scraped fly droppings off of the floor!

Sooooo our dining room is getting painted today!
😃
We have had the paint for several months and we are just now getting around to painting our public rooms.
😆
One wall in the dining room is a textured wall - we installed T1-11 ( I think that’s how you say it!) to bring some character to the room about 8 years ago. Thats an easy project tutorial for another time.
😉
For now I will show you how I paint a textured wall using my fave paint brush - The Palm Pro from Zibra!

Often, you can figure out the parts we used to recreate our home decor items.

But I might have you stumped on this one!

We used the two arms on a broken wood rocker, joined them at the center and created the hanging section of this sign!
😃
The sign is hand painted on a reclaimed piece of barnwood from a late 1800’s barn in Maryland.
😁
My better half reclaimed the lumber after the big reclaimers were finished with the barn. It was in the scrap pile!

Listen, I am not kidding when I say this one is definitely one of my favorite tool box makeovers to date!

I absolutely love taking an item that would have been in the trash heap and reinventing it into such a unique and useful item for someone’s home!
😀
Tool boxes represent the working class, the individuals who are not afraid to get their hands dirty and those who value the tools that are required for the job.
☺️
Tool boxes remind us of hard work, dedicated people and challenges to be faced.
😀
And when you add a set of hairpin legs to a wood toolbox?? There are no words!!
