Learn how easy it is to create these Drop Cloth Christmas Trees for your home or as unique Christmas gifts.
Supplies:
scraps of drop cloth
neutral fabric scraps
5/16" dowel rod
wood slice
Sculpey Clay
gold paint
craft knife
power drill
small pull saw
Drill a hole in the wood slice to fit the dowel rod. This will be the 'trunk' of the tree
Insert dowel with glue.
While the glue dries, tear neutral colored fabrics into squares from 4" to 1 1/2". You will need approximately 20-22 squares for the largest tree. Cut a small hole in the center of each square.
Make a small star shape with clay and bake according to instructions. Paint the star gold. Glue on a button if you like!
Add various sizes of fabric squares to the dowel tree trunk. Start with the largest squares at the bottom and work upwards using the smallest squares at the top.
Glue the painted star on the top of the dowel rod 'tree trunk' with strong adhesive. Allow to dry overnight.
Make a grouping of three trees in varying heights from 9"-14". Enjoy the drop cloth Christmas trees in your home and in giving as gifts!
